Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Award in Accounting
25 Dec 1993The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International (TAGI) Group’s board of directors has assigned an award with the name of the “Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Accounting Award” that will be granted annually to a student graduating from the accounting departments of Arab universities who has excelled in his/her academic field.
The announcement on the award’s assignment came following a meeting between Dr. Ihab Hasan Ismail, the Secretary-General of the Arab Universities Union and Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, TAGI Chairman.
During the meeting, methods of cooperation between Arab universities and major companies working in the accounting sector were discussed, with the aim of raising the level of accounting education in Arab universities through changing the educational curricula in accordance with international variables.
The award aims to support the students who excel and encourage them to perform outstandingly in accounting studies.
It is worth noting that per the agreement with the Secretary-General of the Arab Universities Union, it was left up to the Arab Universities Union to define the standards and terms under which the award will be granted.
